COFFEE WITH A COP


On Wednesday, October 4th, at SUNY Purchase local Starbucks, there was an event, coffee with a cop. This was Starbucks giving free coffee to students who would sit down with a cop/upd member and ask questions and gain information about safety on campus. I did not attend this event for my own personal health issues on that day but I spoke to a few students about the event. It turns out that students were overall against this event, UPD on this campus have tended to be unhelpful and have actually caused more issues than solved according to students. After speaking to 3 students, not one of them wanted to attend or knew anyone who was going to. I am unsure of the turnout at the event but it seems like free coffee was not enough for these students to sit down with a cop!
