Lantern Flies Taking Over
Recently an invasive species called lantern flies have come to terrorize Purchase College campus. These little bugs are everywhere these students go, with the order from the government to squish them when you see them, all you see are dead bugs. These bugs are inside residential buildings, inside classrooms and everywhere you can imagine but usually they're squished. While walking around this campus, you will see students periodically stopping and stomping on the ground, thats when you know there is a new dead bug on the ground. It seems like lantern flies aren't going away any time soon, soon enough, the whole ground of this campus will be covered in lantern flies.
Very informative post. Ive been seeing the lanterns everywhere on the floor around campus, I've though about stepping on it but they look like big beetles and it grossed me out. Everywhere you walk you can see at least one dead lantern fly, squished on the side walk. It's unfortunate that these bugs are destroying trees, we need trees on earth!
