AC's Busted!!!

Spanning a week, we are in a heat wave here at Purchase College. Most air conditioners in the residential building are working but there is a lack of air circulation in the academic buildings and the on campus/off campus apartments. Interviewing a student living in The Commons, I found that that specific apartment complex lives with no AC unit, just a thermostat in the common space that only circulates air in that space, not the bedrooms. This student ( wished to stay anonymous ) states " it's been so hot in my room, I cant sleep there, I've been sleeping in my friends dorm in Outback so I could get some sleep."  During this heat wave, Purchase college needs to step up their game from what I can tell. On September 5th all Purchase students received an email warning us that the AC in certain buildings will be not working at full capacity. 4 hour classes and long study sessions being affected by this heat, something's gotta give!

 Advising week  Advising week ins upon us at Purchase college, this week is between Monday, November 6th to Friday November 10th. Within this week, advisors urge students to make advising appointments to create schedules for the upcoming registration for next semester. They ask that students come in with two ready made schedules, one that is ideal and one backup and the advisors role in this meeting is to confirm or deny that the schedule works. They could revise and explain the future semesters classes and what would be good to take now. This week is very important for students since scheduling is very difficult especially for upperclassmen who are thinking about how on track they are. The advisors can tell you that so everyone should make their appointment.
